Thumb Impression Resizer — 240×240 px, 20–50 KB
IBPS and SBI forms ask for one upload most tools ignore: your left thumb impression, at exactly 240 × 240 pixels and 20–50 KB. This page of the resizer is preset to exactly that — photograph your impression on white paper, frame it, and download a file that fits the band, guaranteed. ✅ Your thumb impression is ready
The IBPS / SBI thumb impression specification
| Item | Specification |
|---|---|
| Which thumb | Left thumb impression |
| Dimensions | 240 × 240 pixels |
| File size | 20–50 KB |
| Format | JPG |
| Background | Plain white paper |
These are the figures IBPS and SBI notifications publish for the thumb impression upload. Recruitment notifications occasionally adjust details between cycles — two minutes re-checking your own notification is always worthwhile — but when it states 240 × 240 and 20–50 KB, the file this tool makes is precisely that, which the result panel verifies line by line.
How to use
- Make the impression. Press your left thumb on an ink pad and roll it gently onto plain white paper so the full print shows, dark and un-smudged.
- Photograph it and add it here. Straight from above, in bright even light. Then drag the square frame so the print fills it, centred, with a small white margin.
- Make and download. The tool produces exactly 240 × 240 px inside 20–50 KB — if the clean print compresses below 20 KB, harmless padding inside the file brings it into the band, and the panel says so.
Tips for an impression that passes scrutiny
- Roll, don't press. A gentle roll from one side of the thumb to the other captures the full print; pressing straight down smudges the centre ridges.
- Use a real ink pad and make two or three impressions, then photograph the clearest one.
- Clean, dry thumb. Wash and fully dry your hands first — moisture blurs ridge detail.
- No shadows in the photo. Photograph near a window or under bright light, with the phone directly above the paper.
Completing your IBPS / SBI set
The same application also needs a photograph, a signature and a handwritten declaration, each at its own specification — all of them are here: the IBPS photo & signature page (photo 200 × 230, 20–50 KB; signature 140 × 60, 10–20 KB) and the Handwritten Declaration Resizer (800 × 400, 50–100 KB).
Frequently asked questions
What is the correct size for a thumb impression in IBPS and SBI forms?
IBPS and SBI notifications specify the left thumb impression at 240 × 240 pixels with a file size of 20–50 KB, in JPG format. That is exactly the preset loaded in this tool. Notifications occasionally change details between recruitment cycles, so confirm the numbers in your own notification before submitting — but if it states 240 × 240 and 20–50 KB, this tool makes precisely that file.
Which thumb should I use — left or right?
The left thumb. IBPS and SBI instructions ask for the left thumb impression (candidates who cannot use the left thumb for a genuine reason are usually told to use the right, and to be able to explain it at the exam centre). Use your left thumb unless your notification says otherwise.
How do I take a good thumb impression photo?
Use a proper ink pad rather than a pen or stamp-pad substitute. Press and roll the thumb gently from one side to the other on plain white paper — do not press hard, which smudges the ridges. The print should be dark, complete and un-smudged. Photograph it straight from above in bright, even light with no shadow across the print, then crop tightly in this tool.
My file came out below 20 KB. Is that a problem?
No — this tool will not leave it below the band. When a small, clean impression compresses to less than 20 KB, the tool adds harmless empty padding data inside the JPG to bring the file into the 20–50 KB band, without changing the picture or its dimensions in any way. The result panel tells you when this has been done.
Is my thumb impression uploaded to your server?
No. The resizing happens inside your browser on your own device. Your file is never sent anywhere, never stored and never seen by anyone — which matters, because a thumb impression is biometric identity data.
