SSC Photo Resizer

Prepare your SSC photo at exactly 200 × 230 pixels and 20–50 KB — then switch to the Signature tab for your 140 × 60 px, 10–20 KB signature. Both presets are built in below.

SSC photo and signature, both to spec

SSC (Staff Selection Commission) publishes some of the strictest upload rules in Indian government recruitment, and they are exact: the photograph must be 200 × 230 pixels and between 20 KB and 50 KB, and the signature must be 140 × 60 pixels and between 10 KB and 20 KB, both as JPGs. The tool above opens with the SSC Photo preset already selected. Prepare your photo, then switch to the Signature tab — it is preset to SSC Signature as well — and prepare that too, all on this one page.

The minimum in each band catches people out. A very clean signature scan can easily come to 6 or 7 KB, and the SSC software rejects it for being too small, just as it rejects a 60 KB photo for being too big. When that happens here, the tool adds a small amount of invisible padding data inside the JPEG file — a standard part of the format that viewers ignore — until the size enters the band. Your picture is not stretched, re-drawn or altered in any way; it simply carries enough weight to pass the check.

For the photograph itself, follow SSC's standing guidance: a recent colour photo, front-facing, without spectacles or a cap, against a plain light background. Crop so your face fills most of the 200 × 230 frame without cutting off the top of your head — the frame in this tool is locked to exactly that shape, so if your face fits the frame, it fits the form.

Frequently asked questions

What are the exact SSC photo and signature specifications?

Photograph: 200 × 230 pixels, 20–50 KB, JPG. Signature: 140 × 60 pixels, 10–20 KB, JPG. Both presets are built into the tool on this page — the Photo tab starts on SSC Photo and the Signature tab on SSC Signature.

Why did SSC reject my signature for being too small?

SSC sets a minimum of 10 KB for signatures, and a clean, tight signature image often encodes to less than that. This tool detects the shortfall and pads the JPEG with invisible comment data to bring the file into the 10–20 KB band, without changing the signature image itself.

Should my SSC photo have a white background?

SSC asks for a plain, light background and a clear front-facing photo without caps or spectacles. The tool renders your crop against white where your image has transparency, but it cannot change a busy real-world background — photograph yourself against a plain light wall for the cleanest result.
